Dendrobium hallieri J.J.Sm. 1912

Section: Formosae
Found only in Borneo, at lowland forest and lower montane forests.
I found it in a lowland forest and peat forest in Central Kalimantan Province at elevation from 15 - 40 meters. Attached to the tree trunks.
Like other formosae species, the pseudobulbs/stem covered with black hairs, erect up to 90 cm long, carrying 6 to 12, oblong-elliptic, oblong-ovate, or oblong, black hirsute above and below leaves.
Flower: 4,5 cm flower stalk; 2-7 flowers; 2,5 cm broad; fleshy; shiny yellow color, with orange stripes on labelum surface.
For var alba spesies, has a larger flower size. Reaching 3 cm broad and 5,5 cm flower stalk.
Based on my experience, its hard to find these orchids in their habitats, often live attached to the tree at more than 7 meters from the ground. Moreover, with its surface covered with black hairs, making the plant's camouflaged by the shadows of the trees.

Bahasa Indonesia:

This species is more well known as Bulbophyllum / Cirrhopetalum lepidum but the epithet flabellum-veneris was published 34 years earlier and as such is the valid name for the species.
This is the kind of Cirrhopetalum which have a large variety and a wide spread area.
Distribution: India, Burma, Laos, Thailand, penninsular Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sumatra, Java and Kalimantan in evergreen forests or Swamp forest, mossy rocks and tree bases at elevations of sea level to 1100 meters.
Shiney pale green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong, abruptly narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms on 2 to 3, basal, 13 to 22 cm long.
Reddish brown floral bracts all holding the 6 to 13 flowers.
Flowers: 7 cm broad, with varying color patterns. That's because of this species having many variants.
I found it attached to mossy tree trunks in some swamp or lowland forest on the outskirts of The Barito River, at elevation from 14 to 20 meters. Which in the rainy season, the entire surface of the land covered by water.

Indonesia:

Bulbophyllum lyriforme J.J.Verm. & P.O'Byrne 2003

Bulbophyllum Lyriforme

Section: Stenochilus

Synonyms: -
References say this orchid is found in Papua New Guinea. But i found it in Borneo.
That's why i am not so sure if this is B. lyriforme. But tracing the physical form and the flowers, it is very close to the characteristics of B. lyriforme.
I found in Borneo, in the lowland forest at elevation from 14 to 18 meters, as a tree climbing epiphyte in a circular. Really liked the mossy trees.
The plant is very similiar with B. macranthum and sometimes also similiar with B. patens, except at the tip of the leaf of B. patens is more more obtuse than B. lyriforme.
Has hairy rhizome with well spaced, ovate-elliptic psedobulbs, carrying a single, dark green, oblong, and slightly tapered at the ends.
Flowers: Single, strong fragrant, are always in a state does not open properly.
Dorsal sepal has 6,5 mm width and 3 cm long extend to the front,
Petals has 3 mm width and 3 cm long extend to the side move to the front,
Lateral sepals 3 cm long extend to the front.
Dorsal sepal and petals has a white base color with some dark red to purple spots. But in lateral sepals has yellow/orange and white, this color difference is very contrast, it can be seen that the half part to bottom is yellow and and the remaining half is white.
As well as B. macranthum, by the local people in Central Kalimantan also called "Gaharu" orchid (gaharu means agarwood/eaglewood). They said its strong fragrant smells like aromatic resin.

Bahasa Indonesia:
